A borescope is a flexible or rigid optical instrument with a camera at the tip, used to inspect hard-to-reach areas without disassembly. Ralcam borescopes are widely used in automotive engine inspection, HVAC duct inspection, plumbing pipe inspection, and industrial equipment maintenance.
All Ralcam inspection borescopes feature an articulating camera tip with multi-directional steering control, giving you precise maneuverability inside engines, pipes, and industrial cavities. The one exception is the Q3 — a dedicated HVAC cleaning camera designed with a fixed-angle lens optimized for straight duct access and air vent inspection, where steering is not required.
The Ralcam M506 modular borescope is our most popular choice for automotive use — its interchangeable probe system lets you switch between different cable lengths and diameters for engine cylinders, brake lines, and exhaust inspection. The N508U articulating borescope is ideal for tight engine bays where directional control matters.
Probe diameter depends on the access hole size: 6.2mm probes fit most automotive spark plug ports and standard pipes; 8.5mm probes provide better image quality for larger openings like HVAC ducts or industrial machinery. Ralcam's modular M506 system lets you swap probes, so you get the right diameter for each job.
